21 April 2017

'Versatile' is a term that's tossed around quite a bit in fashion

but our upcoming Keats Wrap Top has truly got us excited.

Below the cut, we wax lyrical about Keats' endless styling possibilities

and give you a quick heads start with 3 simple ideas.

You'll also find the other two colours that Keats comes in.

Yup you read that right.

We've got a pop-up coming your way real soon!

(Pro tip: stay close to our newsletters, social media platforms and blog for more details.)

For HVVgirls who might've missed previous glimpses of our pop-up (in progress),

We also share our in-store playlist and the thought process/considerations behind it.

#HVVGirltalk Poll Round-up: Food

10 April 2017

If you're on HVV's mailing list,

you might have noticed our (random) Wednesday #hvvgirltalk polls.

It's a little corner that encourages all of us to take a little time out

from our busy schedules and wonder about all sorts of stuff.

It also helps us to get to know all of you a little bit better!

For our first #hvvgirltalk round-up,

we've compiled everyone's responses to the food-related questions

with the addition of a few fun insights along the way.

HVVHQ Current Faves

06 April 2017

Fashion's 'body shapes' can be a headache to navigate and make sense of.

It can feel like there are 'categories' to fit into and many 'rules' to abide by when we want to get dressed.

In HVV's approach to Women's fashion, we try not to lose sight of a few things.

1) Diversity. Women exist in all shapes and sizes, they hail from all walks of life and they all have their own concerns and goals.

2) Fashion should be inclusive, expansive and about endless possibilities.

3) At the end of the day, we all want to look and dress how we choose to. We want to express and be our true selves.

Understanding the above means that those 'rules' and 'categories' should be taken with a pinch of salt.

At best, they can act as rough guidelines and recommendations for sartorial shortcuts.

At their very worst, they oversimplify things and reject/disregard the natural diversity inherent amongst humans.

Below the cut, you'll find a round-up of our current favourites

and very rough sketches of the HVV team's various (female) body shapes (plus 1 dude).

You are welcome to use/refer to this visual round-up as you wish

but we'd encourage everyone to dress as they see fit.

At the end of the day, all that matters is that you're happy!

#HVVGIRL'S Pelagia Ruched Pantsuit

04 April 2017

Coming up this week at HVV:

If you're a fan of our supple Sage Palazzo Pants, you're in luck!

We've brought back the same fabric for our upcoming ruched pantsuit.

To bring everyone up to speed (on why this material rocks our world):

1. It's breezy, lightweight and smooth.

2. It keeps us cool in Singapore's equatorial weather (regardless of hemline length).

3. It also manages to keep our legs from freezing in chilly air-conditioned settings (not sure if magical dual ability or simply science).

Below the cut, Pelagia's aesthetic is expressed via a simple moodboard.

Close-up details are included too!

You can try your hand at her favourite recipe - Match Green Tea Lava Cake - below the cut.

(Don't worry, there's an easy-to-follow video too!)

HVV Stylist: Prints & Places

29 March 2017

Sartorially speaking,

a sunny and fun-filled Spring/Summer can be expressed via

a colourful mix of floral and abstract prints.

It doesn't matter if you're a minimalist dresser

who's tentatively dipping her feet into a pair of printed trousers

or an intrepid print-evangelist who comes alive in a patterned piece.

You can go slow and incorporate (read: celebrate) a well-loved print in small ways

by wearing it with your usual basic/solid-hued pieces.

You could also seize the moment and revel in a print that perfectly complements your destination and surroundings.

Prints can also help to mirror your current mood and aspirations for the occasion.

Read on for a simple inspirational guide to HVV's prints - for ideas on when and where to wear them.
